Still a lot of gaps in the MBT data with NT7. Not sure if this is my problem. Shame, because NT charts are so smooth

that one gap is the sunday gap

not sure about the other one

reload historical data on the chart and see if that fixes it

Bend over and assume the position for another 4 years of hope and change.

sill using the NAV for now

i did some scalps last night in asia live in NT when the market was slower

all went ok

still a little nervous using it since it is still in beta

plus my data on ninja vrs mt4 is a little different for closing prices highs and lows------- not sure on that

i cant look at both of them or i will go crazy wondering which one is right

will just choose one at some point and not look at the other one

You're right to be nervous, NT7 just crashed on me. I was changing TF from 60 to 480 when the whole thing went loopy, froze and I had to restart the software again.

I suggest you stay away live for now, not worth it if you playing big ones :-k

maybe dchappy can wade in since he's the NT expert :)

I've tested nearly all available to me broker's data feed via NinjaTrader 6.5
(MBT, PFG, GainCapital, TradeStation, eSugnal).

Interesting thing is, that each & every feed is different from each other
even on minute charts, tick charts are absolutely different -
and this is all clearly visible.

If I'd look at Ninja charts, feed from TradeStation and
TradeStation charts themselves at the same time -
I could see the differences (small, but still visible):
candles or weaks smaller,
opening or closing 1-2 ticks earlier or so.

I haven't used MBT much, because they don't have historical data,
but MBT datafeed was the most unstable one, went frozen
several times.

I've tried to compare MBT charts via MT4 and NinjaTrader.
Very close, but not identical, so I won't be
suprised with e/s having issues here.

I won't even look at Ninja 7 for nearest 6 or 12 months
or so - let others to discover & experience all faults & bugs
(i'm software developer myself & know, how it's done),
Ninja 7 release was delayed for more than 1 year already
and still in buggy beta.

NinjaTrader is free for demo version,
and free in live version only through GainCapital
for forex. But GainCapital data feed for Forex is crup,
and their spreads could be huge (as compared to ECN ones).
To trade live one need to pay for full licence,
and demo version is lucking static DOM for forex
and some other features.

With MT4 I could place my order with target profit and stop-loss
and switch the computer off.
With Ninja such trick doesn't working (at least - for me),
I 've tried lots of times, but computer must be on
for stop-loss orders to be executed.

Another tip for NinjaTrader - is to restart it every 12 hours
or so, don't run continiusly, you'll arrive to unknown
stop-frozen problems otherwise.

However, NinjaTrader support, education, SuperDOM and charts
are peace of the art.

Thanks for the detailed insight noone22. Even MBT MT4 have problems with data (although this could be the indi problem). Given up on making sense of it all, will stick with MT4 for now as no choice :(

No matter what, I still have MT4 charts open -
for TRO's indicators and not only.

I've been using NT7 demo along with MBT Navigator Version 11.5.0.5 (for the historical data) this week with zero problems. However, I only trade EURUSD on a 5m chart. Not switching time frames or instruments. (Pick one method and one pair and stick with them until you master it. TRO) 8)

As has been stated, to use MBT data for live trading I will need to lease/buy a license key for NT7 to go live. I've used NT (free version with license key supplied by futures broker) for years to trade futures and have become spoiled with it's simplicity. Trading directly from the charts is something I just can't give up so I am more than willing to pay for the license key.

Here's the link for the MB connection guide for those trying NT7 and want access to the historical data:
(only works with NT7, not NT6.5)
