I think the moving average although it works a lot of the time, it's like a magician using slight of hand...It misdirects you from what you should be looking for if that makes sense.

Bettlebox,

Your answer didn't answer why price went above the moving average, signaling an entry short.

It has everything to do with the recent PA of 12 bars and the calculating of an average that is "moving" through TIME.

You did an analysis and determined the bias was down...then you wait for a way in.

What I'm trying to get you to think about is "Why?" did the moving average and price look like that and can you see it without the moving average.

Hi, i live in England.

quote "squiggly line truly has no value" there is no right or wrong just porfitable or unprofitable. If squiggly dont work for you cool, if they do cool.

either way its cool. I use squiggly in very specific way , its called a "point of value". Plus Just like a good security policy, it never relies on one system for protection, the say is true here.

But someone with 2 posts said it best, I wont hate you for liking it. But a squiggly line truly has no value

^^ How do I know? Because CNBC thinks they are the be all and end all

Also, dear god is there a moderator that can save us from pingping?

The only thing i use the squiggly for is when I was learning, I aways entered to early.......now forcing my self to wait for price to be above the squiggly solved my problem...

find your personal problem...and solve it...(change what doesnt work)!
It always takes Momentum to break Momentum!
"A small loss is just as satisfying as a large gain" -MO
"Sometimes we need to stop learning and start thinking...."
"Once you stack, you'll never go back!"

The 12ema is a slave to price. It can only do what price tells it to do.
Does price do the same thing every day?
Does price make the same patterns on EVERY level/timeframe? (being fractal in nature)

Hmmmmmm

Ok then.
We can use this if we so choose to increase our odds of the future movements.
We can use this to give us hints as to when price is slowing down or speeding up.
Is it a requirement?
Not at all.

Sam's latest webinar from Oct 8th on the first 4 "odd" enhancers is pretty good.

Can indicators be helpful when scanning through multiple chart pairs/time frames to make things quicker to see what wave or stage the market is currently in?
ONLY to those who have spent enough time to familiarize themselves with what they are looking at.

Here is a trade I took today, without the MA and BBand I would have wanted to wait until price retraced to the Green line above OR I would have had to chase it on a breakout after it confirmed.

Any indicator that has been invented can be used to trade successfully if you spend enough time with it.
A blank price chart can too.
To Each His Own.

Suppose to be where/when/how.
And yes, On a smaller chart price did return to the first 2 levels but if you missed it you'd still be waiting to enter when price hit the bottom congestion area.
Specially after the 2nd leg down.
Unless of course you employ the "Traders Trick" from a ledge.
