Thanks for the indicators and the teachings. I reread the entire thread again looking for the answer and must have missed it. On the EURUSD chart, how can the bottom right of the chart be adjusted to reflect EURUSD and not USDCHF?

TIA for your help.

You need the B-Clock_TRO_MODIFIED_VERSION. I attached it.

First post here. I´ve been following this thread for a week now, testing the Rat method on a demo account. I have to say that I´m not getting good results. Don´t want to say that the method is wrong, but I´m getting trouble understanding the simple rules.
Take for example today. I know I am supposed to trade just one pair, but as TRO writes about two or three I think I can test more than one pair. So, my strategy was:
- Price 20 pips from low (or High, don´t know why I have to be a Red o Green rat, maybe someaon can tell me, remember I´m just trying to learn :) )
- Day´s trading range at ATR or more.
- Red candle close (or green looking for a red rat).
- Green candle close (or red looking for a red rat).
- Buy at Price at High of previows candle (or sell the red rat)
- SL 10p

Looking for a green rat I was stopped @USDCHF
Looking for a red rat I was stopped @GBPUSD, NZDUSD, EURUSD

Got some, but lost much more.

As I said, I´m not stating that the RAT method doesn´t work, I´m just telling that I followed the rules (or what I understand about them... and that could be the problem!) and got stopped a lot. Hope I could see the light!

You can say that again.

Wrong place wrong time. Just completed my Yale application. Hope they accept oldgeezers. Like Rodney Dangerfield.

Global "Rat Color" Control & Indicator

Postby snscott » Mon Oct 19, 2009 10:06 pm

Here is a RAT CONTROL Indicator that will display what color of rat you are and let you also set a GLOBAL MetaTrader variable named "RATCOLOR" which can then be accessed from any other indicator or chart to allow things to be changed or filtered based on the user's chosen color.

For example, I modified TRO's RAT REVERSAL code to only signal events for my GREEN Rat.

I included some utility functions for Getting and Setting the GLOBAL variable which can be added to other indicators to let them share the single central "rat color" setting.

This indicator places a label wherever you specify on the screen. By default, it uses the AnimaliaScissored font to display the RAT symbol, but you can specify any font and/or any characters/text. Heck, you could even just have it display the phrase "GREEN RAT" in Arial font if you wanted.

You can also specify different colors to be displayed - for example, while my RATCOLOR is "Green", I found that to be too dark, so it uses the "Rat.GreenDisplay" color property set to "Lime" to show my Rat in a brighter shade of "green". There is a corresponding "Rat.RedDisplay" property as well.

You can download the free AnimaliaScissored font at
http://www.fonts4free.net/animalia-scissored-font.html
(and many other "free font" sites, actually)

However, until people (like TRO) actually make use of the global ratcolor variable in their RAT indicators, all THIS indicator will do for you is display a reminder of what color rat you had declared yourself to be.

I do NOT remember saying anything about ATR.

If you do NOT understand why you can't switch RAT colors THEN YOU ARE YALE MATERIAL!!
