There were a lot of possible trades on this chart. Just took these.

It took me some time to find your example chart on my charts...it looked very different (obviously I could read the date but PA seemed very different) When I settled on finding the exact same chart it stood out to me...something that has been written many times on Kreslik but apparently just did not enter my head....

It's a bit like this trade I did today.
It was a bumpy ride and I was in doubt if I should close the trade or keep it overnight.
I choose to close it.

When I started, my first try was short. My SL was at the top red line (I cheated a bit lowering my stop)
The trade went wrong fast and I reversed the trade, trading of an m15 IB. My stop was at the bottom line, at a bigger charts low. (This is what you meant not so?) I took partials and watched it go up again. To be honest I missed a part if that downmove (luckily because I would have closed it after that big downcandle) but when I was at my charts again I figured I could see if it would take liquidity running that low. It payed out and I held but didn't want to leave it open during the night.
Thx IgazI

Tsk, tsk [-X

A) you know that the chart is consuming a lot of time
B) so something like this is bound to break
C) you don't really have to sell until support fails.

H4 had some really nice price levels, I would have loved to hold that trade.

If your 2nd trade were short, how would you have felt about holding short? you would be praying that price didn't spike upwards as it recently did, wouldn't you? suddenly it doesn't feel so bearish.

After you find a price level on the H4, and it could be something as simple as a reversal of the low of range breakout, look for a price level (pattern) on the minute chart. Before placing a trade, think about how the H4 chart is developing, what things you might expect, and what things you would want to see.

Ah...crap.
That was a weak mindset again....

I have not thought about it in the way you look at the structure, how that support is also helping me and how also the H4 trades out of something.

Thx. I'll have to think this through better.

Worked myself in a nice trade yesterday.
The idea is simple; it trades off the extreme of a leg. Because price reversed at that same level, I want to see the same.
The setup (top or bottom) should be at a nice round price level, 00's - 50's. For some pairs I also use the 20's Like in this trade. I entered exactly at 146.2 and am aiming for a minimum at the 144 level. Just moved my SL to be.
Let's see where it wants to go.

The frustrating thing about swing trading is that it does often take several attempts to catch "the move".

Knowing that you want to ride an H4, that you are not really here to day trade, will keep you focused.

This is how a trading nightmare looks like.
Needless to say, I didn't take any trades over here.

Last two weeks I have been struggling a bit with my trading.
It just felt as if it was harder to trade because often there wasn't real follow through.
I blamed it to the month of August, low trading volume and especially me, not being able to adapt fast enough.

But today went quite well...
7 profit trades this evening vs 1 cost trade

Got out just in time :-)
5 trades, one cost trade.
Main trade has about 32R, I'm happy.

Just some deadhorse fun.
Missed that FVG on my losing trade but made it up with the next one.
