“Do you mind sharing your criteria for drawing Z-line(s)?”

I usually put the line on the last candle of the previous move..... sometimes at the body, sometimes at the wick.

All,

It's about time I stop taking advantage of Mira's hospitality by invading her thread and move to my own. Thank you, Mira, for your generosity!

The thread is, Mr. D's Humble Quest In The Wick Land

Will be glad to see you all there!

Sorry, I think my wording was confusing....
Also, I don’t have ES on my MT4, so had to use a doodling app, but the yellow line up top is where I would put the Zline

This week the real account *censored - swear word* my head up :smt118 :smt119

-2%, mostly because of B/E, small losses and small profits.
Analysing the situation with a cold mind I see that there was a lack of Doji zones H1 on the pairs that I follow (without considering overnight setups :x )

What I did was going on a lower timeframe haunting small patterns, MISTAKE 1 -> NOT PART OF THE TRADING PLAN.

However I found that I still have problems to give a correct interpretation to the market.

Most of the times I found myself in this situation, bearish setup and bullish momentum (?)
Guys, what would you do?

I even tried to draw zlines, CCs and breaks on D1.
Price respected the levels well on all the charts but they confused me at some point.

Here I re adapted lines to H1 levels.
First arrow breakout, break in: i went short but then price broke below and above the lower line (second arrow).

I closed the trade there because I had no idea of the direction of the next move. :(

Hi Mira,

Hope all is well.

As I read the Ideas thread, there are some preliminary thoughts I'd like to share here if you do not mind.

So, basically, it is all about lines, z-lines to be specific. Once they are placed on 4H chart, scroll down to 30M for trading. Trade long once the price cross the bottom line from bottom up, reverse (sell to cover and short) at the top line. Am I getting the main idea right? See the chart for an example on /ES.

Thanks!

Mr. D!

Well, my ALL about zlines.. The Ideas is more about position and position sizing.
MO would say that is all about risking lines and making lines :D

To me is finding a “high probability place” on the chart: zlines, CCs and 50% of big candles, even closes of big bars can work in the same way.
Then I apply a setup to that lines and finally I try to use a strong money management.

Having and following the plan is the most important thing, not how I did the last week.
Went down to -3% at some point, fortunately I closed it at +1 LOL
However in a week like this I could have made a +10 easily

Where I marked the black horizontal lines is where I see the Zlines. I also marked an area where I would have considered an exit. My stop loss would have been at the top of the last swing high. 1:1 or 1:1.5 risk:reward depending on which one you played.
