Today on FB I saw a post by my wife's cousin. It was a picture of her father (my wifes uncle) and mother @their wedding from years ago.
He died of colon cancer about 5yrs ago and she stated in the post there is not a day that goes by they both don't miss him and wish he was still here.
Maybe it's my age? (47) Nothing is permanent. Everything ends in loss 100% and total.
2 generations go by after death and we have descended into oblivion. My grandfather who was an awesome man, who was always good to me died 16yrs ago. He brought memories abundantly of boating, traveling the U.S., camping, fishing, ect. My oldest children have but a faint memory of him and the youngest have none.
Why do we fear loss when it is an inevitability???
I mean, cmon, my 20's are long gone. I just don't understand why some of us hold on to this world until our hands are cold, stiff, and withered.
