MILKING THE COWS - GAP FILL

MILKING THE COWS - GAP FILL

GAP HISTORY OF PAST 10 SESSIONS:

Color background means the gap was filled. The number is the size of the gap. Green = gap up and Red = gap down.

GAP UP STATISTICS FOR PAST 250 SESSIONS:

Shows how many times the stock gapped up in the last 250 sessions and how many times it filled the gapped.

GAP DOWN STATISTICS FOR PAST 250 SESSIONS:

Shows how many times the stock gapped down in the last 250 sessions and how many times it filled the gapped.

These screens show the gap fill performance of the 20 best NASDAQ Gap fillers (COWS).

Fading the gap is a very profitable strategy. It's even more profitable when you combine it with statistical analysis. Just trade stocks that fill the gap more times than not and you'll rake it in.

How to read the statistics:

Look at the first radar screen. SEPR filled the gap 5 out of 10 times. REMEMBER, the stock does NOT have to completely fill the gap for you to make money! Four days ago SEPR did not gap open.

Look at the second radar screen. SEPR gapped up 131 times and the gap was filled 113 times. 113/131 = 86% gap fill. Average size of the gap was $.31. If you trade 1,000 shares, you should be able to peel off one or more $100 bills every time SEPR gaps up.

Look at the third radar screen. SEPR gapped down 110 times and the gap was filled 83 times. 83/110 = 73% gap fill. Average size of the gap was $.31. If you trade 1,000 shares, you should be able to peel off one or more $100 bills every time SEPR gaps down.

If all you do is gap fade trades then all you have to focus on is money management. If you are trading stock that fill the gap 7 or more times out of ten, it's better than the Vegas casino's odds!!

ELD and Workspace Attached.

Note to AAPL Juicer's: AAPL is not in the TOP 20 but it's still my favorite cow.

Note: There's a bonus in the ELD and Workspace but you'll have to download to get the Pirate's Treasure!!

TRO

I love the Radar screen with the red and green squares to show not only that the gaps are filled, and also the gap directions. This screen is worth a ton of charts !!! [and more importantly a ton of dollars !!! (added post TRO's post below) ]

Thank you TRO.

Trading the gap may require fast action on your fingers!!!

1. What is the best time frame to trade the gap? 110 ticks, 1m, or 5 minutes?
2. What is the best indicator (RSI2??) to use for the gap or just follow the price?

"There are only 2 types of traders, the quick and the dead."

1) For the first 15 minutes of the day, I use 1 min charts to trade. Then I switch to 5 minute charts.

2) The only chart indicators I use are the buyzone and my dynamic support/resistance.

I do NOT use "squiggly line" indicators to trade.

I also may use my TRO_PMSM_HL.

In the multi frequency radar, I use the _SM_CANDLE2 indicator so I can see the candle color of 6 - 8 different intervals.

In a 1 minute radar, I use the _SMAA_TRADE_MTC and TRO_BUYZONE indicators if I want to look to trade other stocks.

Trader's Emotions -- the key to profits or busted...

Postby Patch » Sun Jun 10, 2007 2:02 am

TRO

Rather than "quick" or "dead", I think of the two types of traders as either the profitable or the broke and busted accounts. I've been there big time. Emotions have everything to do with success and failure in this endevor. TRO, how did you get control and learn to control your emotions while trading dollars in the markets?

Patch:

Look at the two percent excel spreadsheet.

When it sinks in, you'll know how simple it is to trade profitably.

Think about it, open a $500 forex account. Trade 1 minilot per day. Net 2 pips per day. Without compounding you double your money in a year.

Add compounding and you become rich in a year or two.

Knowledge controls emotions.

Auto Trade one account inside a Roth IRA...

Postby Patch » Sun Jun 10, 2007 1:31 pm

KZ

I have the sheet downloaded on my system at home. Do a search and or look in the download section, ie click on the tents at the top right of this screen, then look at the right hand column for downloads.

Or you can write your own 2% sheet for either simple gain or compounding. Figuring 2% and that basically trading 250 days a year (5days*50weeks) with simple interest you end up the year with 3,000.00. If you compound you end up with 70,633.86. I think it was Albert Einstein who said the seventh or eight wonder of the world is compound interest--ask your banker.

The eighth or ninith wonder is once you figure out how to trade profitably, how ever long it may take you, auto trade one of your accounts inside a Roth IRA. Wow what a sweet and legal deal you will have in your retirement years. I am not a tax guy so talk with yours.

For me, all I can say is that Roth and profitable, consistant trading go together very nicely.
