The more I test this concept, the more I see it happens just as you say.
It happen to me yesterday. I took off half my order then moved the
stoploss up to "protect" my order.
Price moved close to my TP but went back and hit the SL for a small gain.

all were buying into momentum, small stops but still against the bigger momo... plenty of discretion involved there
