It has been a while since I visited this forum.
I see you are still going strong my friend. Very good.

I was looking into your Rat Zone strategy/indicator,
on an hourly chart.

Trading day for me always starts at 00:00 GMT+0 (Asian Open).
Trading session for me starts at London Open (GMT+0)

When you look at the OANDA MT4 platform, you notice
that OANDA uses GMT-6.

The High/Low area's that are displayed by your Rat Zone
indicator are not always the same when I compare Oanda (using GMT-6)
to some other broker (using GMT+0).
The first 6 bars of the Asian open are not included on the OANDA platform
which uses GMT-6.

I would like to know if it is possible to display your
Rat Zone indicator on the OANDA platform for the full 24 hours ?
On the OANDA platform your indicator only looks at the last 18 hours.

The 24 hours period doesn't matter. The start time does not matter.

When we have a look into the Rat Zones on the EUR/USD for today
you would see a low of the day till 14:00 GMT of about 1,3420 (daily pivot),
on the OANDA platform.

On some other platform using GMT+1 we see a daily low of 1,3388 at start
of the trading day.

That is a 32 pip difference on the daily high/low till 14:00 gmt.
I think it does matter which time frame you use.

What time frame do you use for trading the Rat Zone ?

I count back from the current H1 chart 24 bars. Than I draw my lines accordingly.

I trade off the M5. Doing so I was able to trade the EURUSD today as a green rat pretty well.

Yes, exactly, you have to count back 24 hours manually to display the zones correctly for brokers who do use different time frames.
If there is a Rat Zone version arround that allows me to change GMT settings, then please inform me, thank you.

FXDD & MB Trading

Postby winny » Tue Feb 28, 2012 11:53 pm

TRO,

I noticed that you went to FXDD, and probably left MB Trading.
Why did you leave MB and choose for FXDD ?

FXDD exists for 10 years I heard today.
They have a 2 pip spread on EUR/USD, why did you choose them ?

Sorry I do not know of a rat zone version that allows the use to change the GMT settings.

I just do things manually

I modified the RAT ZONE indicator to show use the last 24 bars to plot the zone.

The important part is to enter WITHIN 20 pips of the daily low. The RAT REVERSAL is only one entry method.
