Look what 5 cents per pip can do.

& how many 2 day extremes did price have to murder to get there?

Risk is normalized, it is the same at $0.05/pip as it is at: $0.50, $5, $50, & $500/pip.

Double your size & halve your space, risk is the same.

$5 over 40 pips = $10 over 20 = $20 over 10 = $40 over 5 = $80 over 2.5 = $100 over 2 = $200 over 1.
"But I can't get my risk box down to 1 pip!"
You can with OPM!

You should be more afraid of small lot sizes as that is what is going to hold you back for the next 7 years.

Can we please stop @these?
It's a murderous task to perform.

Looking back at the above post I so EASILY omitted the most important 2 day extreme of all..........The candle just to the right of my entry blew through it like butter.

For whatever reason, what I thought when I read MightyOne's post was:

$5 perpip over 40 pips
=
$10 perpip over 20 pips
=
$20 perpip over 10 pips
=
$40 perpip over 5 pips
=
$80 perpip over 2.5 pips
=
$100 perpip over 2 pips
=
$200 perpip over 1 pip

Me too. I would assume as you accumulate OPM each pip becomes worth the above said value.

A 50 pip rocket blast would then be worth our time.

That link is not working for me dchappy (page not found).

I do something similar through doubling.

Risk box starts at 40 pips (say $40)
1 double: rb is 20 ($2 * 20)
2 doubles: rb is 10 ($4 * 10)
3 doubles: rb is 5 ($8 * 5)

All of my gains/losses are recorded in "big pips" ($8/pip, target size).

0 doubles: 0.125 "big pips"/pip
1 double: 0.25 "big pips"/pip
2 doubles: 0.50 "big pips"/pip
3 doubles: 1 "big pip"/pip

The question is the same: how easily can your target size wipe out previous losses and show a profit?

Some people think that they can afford to lose hundreds of pips because they are using a small size
If I lose 400 pips, at my smallest size, where each pip is 0.125 "big pips", then that is -50 "Big Pips"!
Do the math, you can't afford multiple multi-hundred pip losses at any size; you will spend all of your time
trying to break even.
