After some nice analysis I made a stupid mistake today

greed got me - the possibility of doubling my lot size again was the plan

Many times I was too confident and was overleveraging my positions.
Even last week had to close my positions as I had added too much ("because the price had to go there") and when having a shower decided to close them all on one pair as even 20 pips move against me would clear my whole profit.
How unprofessional was that.
After that I have decided that I would no longer behave like a loser and stick to MO Space Wars

AHH, I should have said,

I was not over-leveraged - and, I still made a nice sum of Dosh - but it could have been SO much better.

My game plan is to get to max lots using my risk space (OPM) - I only have a tad less than half a percent of my account at risk on this trade - not as good as the REAL traders here I know.

Max lots delivers a doubled account for every 100 pips - nice work if you can get it :#)

Currently I am up 11% in a 4 trade sequence

Bredin has a nice Lotsize calculator on II - using this its not possible to over-leverage yourself.

I don't always get it right either - but after 7 years its sort of getting there

Personally I hold a spike base in high esteem - hence the IF/THEN placement.
Was hell sitting by the pc to react if necessary tho - well it was until we hit TP:D

lots of smelling mistales on the chart but I aint altering it now - never could spell - that's what a spell checks for aint it?

I tried a tiny "Dragon" entry on this - although not strictly sure its a Zline -

I find these charts hard to zoom in on (for my eyes)- I prefer the plain vanilla charts - but having one of these to hand could be a great option if you have the right place marked up - I think you have to find what works for you rather than just copy

Took the exact same trade on the EG got out with about 90 pips in the pocket and I see price is back for what looks like it 'could' be round 2...?

Yep - its slooooooooooooowly coming together -

I thought that I had it together last year - but the market taught me I had much to learn - groin injuries can be painful.

I did take a tiny hit - but that trade was outside of my plan - so I deserved it!


Yes, the weekend is once again spent looking at triangles and double checking my trading plan for the week ahead.


The account up 20% in the last two weeks. - Using a risk of less than half a percent - I have also banked a bit back into my leverage ledger- imagine what 2% would do!



I thought I would add the chart below to give a little context to the trade - and put down some Thoughts - I wondered what that burning smell was!




EDIT Trying to predict every twist and turn proved my undoing on a really nice analysis at the beginning of the week - I hope not to repeat that error (any time soon) - My eye must have slipped from the big picture - but I made up for it later

Tried to hijack Aliassmiths "dead horse thread" with this post - nearly got away with it

Nice trade from today put a smile on my accounts face - both of them
This is a cleaned up chart - my chart is covered with lines and boxes which is, I know , totally confusing - so I left on the essentials.

The slanties help with context and confirmation I am in the right area

Wasn't too happy with the bottom slantie - but the cash zone helped

I wonder if FXCM is attempting to recoup some losses from somewhere

Luckily I use an emergency stop only - and a manual close over an if/then.

I bet a few got spanked with that - the spead was widened on my other account with IC markets but nowt like that

Time to get the old pension fund with someone else I recon.
