I think it's twigged in my head that the question to ask to draw the 2 lines, kind of looking at 2 rats is 'Where is the short' and 'Where is the long' Then see where the bars are closing now, so unless 3CC closes below that green line I don't want to be short....I think

Edit - I've typed something wrong in the top text.
It should read more like this

"Last high here in purple, and magenta is the 'reason to be short line'. If closing below, short, if closing above, long. Because there is also a reason to get long line there, closing above = long, closing below = short, needs to close below both magenta AND green line for short "
