Hey TRO and others,
What market scanners do you guys use nowadays? I remember there was a pretty nifty one you use to use TRO, but I forgot what it was called. Could you let me know? Thanks.
What market scanner you use again?

Market Scanners?
www.stockfetcher.com is a stock service that I pay for so I can run my statistics reports.
www.smallcapcenter.com has a free stock scanner.
I think yahoo and msn have free scanners too.
But I don't look for what stocks to trade anymore. I just "milk the cows".

IT'S NOT WHAT YOU TRADE, IT'S HOW YOU TRADE IT!

I think this is the best stock screener i have used till date.
http://www.marketinout.com
I basically use it to backtest, and search for stocks based on Ichimoku events.
Helpful for developing and testing trading strategies. Supports Stocks, Forex and ETF. I think it is much better than most other available in the market.

I agree. I like http://www.marketinout.com because there are huge amount of screens including thomas demark, ichimoku, macd&rsi diveregnces, fibonacci, etc. I can test my trading systems by using strategy backtesting tool which gives the ability to setup parameters like open/close signals, s/l, t/p...very cool

TBH personally I dont see the point in backtesting the usual mechancial indicators i.e Moving average crossovers, macd crossovers etc..
How can a mechanical signal make you money, deosnt make sense when these indicators are derived from the actual Price and Volume and supposedly they give you imaginary buy and sells.
there is so many of these indicators personally I think they cancel each other out over the long term. JMO and am open to be persuaded..
Hi Tro, have you a list of Statistical Analysis that you carry out?
Many thanks!

What do you mean by stock screening strategy backtest? Is it portfolio backtesting, or you trade only few stocks and would like to test them on history?
