Postby TheRumpledOne » Wed Apr 04, 2007 4:50 am

TRO DYNAMIC FIBS SR2 - eSignal

TRO DYNAMIC FIBS SR2 performs like TRO DYNAMIC FIBS SR for TradeStation.

EFS attached.

Also, I uploaded a bunch of EFS studies that I have collected in the download section - eSignal Motherlodes.

Is the concept behind the code on this one similar to the tro_dynamic_sr3? Basically just draw the dynamic s/r the same way as in sr3 and then fill the inbetweens with the various fib percentages instead of the midpoint?

Just curious as to why you use 24% and 76% for your top/bottom fibs while all other fibs are carried to 3 sig figs? Why not use 23.6% and 76.4%?

No reason at all.

Guess I just punched them in off the top of my head.

But they are INPUTS, so you can "fix" them!!

That's why I "soft code" just about everything - so the user can "tweak" the indicators to their liking.

Shifting S/R levels in TRO DynamicFibsSR2

Postby zeller4 » Tue Dec 11, 2007 1:47 am

Avery,

The attached screenshot demonstrates what I was asking in the Paltalk room today. The 14:09 candle had a large shift in dynamic Resistance.
I set the TradeZoneTime to 14:09 so I could see the next penetration of the zone. It occurred within 2 minutes of the shift. (5 ticks on ER2 - Only using 1-min candles to see how quickly it occurs.) Even if I wait for the bar to close or set to the next candle (14:10) there is a dramatic move through the trade zone. Obviously, some trades would be filtered out. (i.e. The long trade was bouncing off the 23% fib as resistance so that wouldn't be taken, etc.) Others may be in a tight trading range and not produce anything.

If I understood right, you mentioned something in the room about running some other statistics (didn't know if you finished your discussion on this).

Any other insights are appreciated.

Thanks,
Kirk

Zeller:

Hard to know how to answer since the price is not displayed!!

But remember, this is trading. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

14:00 on your chart is 16:00 NY time... then not much going on until shorts cover near 5PM NY time.

Avery,
duh, sorry about the no-prices chart!

this is 14:09 EST

I was mainly curious if you normally see large moves after large adjustment of the dynamic S/R dots... or at least quick moves through the buyzone if it's reset at these occurrences throughout the day.

thanks,

kz

zeller4,

Hard to say for sure, however, quite periods (tight S/R) are typically followed by higher volatility (wider S/R).

Edward
Eudaimonia (pron.: you-die-moan-e-a) (Greek: εὐδαιμονία) is a classical Greek word commonly translated as 'happiness'. The less subjective "human flourishing" is often preferred as a translation.
