Bredin,

Sorry to hear about that strong earth quake in NZ. Where in NZ do you live?

johny,

Thanks for the concern.

I didnt feel it so it cant have been near Hamilton

7.1 is pretty big, but NZ is built with quakes in mind so damage wont be quite a much as youd expect.
Ive got some mates in Christchurch that I'd better send a note to..

I had an office in a building in Wellington that was built on the reclaimed foreshore. The Manager of the building was happily telling us that if they got a quake of about 7.5, the reclaimed land would suffer liquifaction, but the buliding would be undamaged and just sink into the muck :)

I just saw the news. 7.1 magnitude is huge isn't it, especially for a small island (or 2)? Glad you're ok.

its big, but NZ has some of the strictest building codes around. Most of the damaged buildings in Christchurch (900 or so kms from where I am, btw) are older brick and stone constructs.

It struck at 4ish am local time 30km out and 10km down. I think the news said 2?? dead which is good for a city of ~350k people.

Thanks again for the concern :)

In your opinion, since the Bank of Japan will have to decide in the next hours about interest rates, it's time reverse (sell) Yen?

I might be crazy, but I do not believe that much in fundamentals. Since I met TRO, MO, Dragon, ESPIP, blah blah blah, I just stick to what I see on the charts and trade my perception. The rest I tend to believe that are arguments to move price as fast as possible to determined zones.... again, I might be crazy.

Cheers

Postby HanzoSword » Tue Sep 07, 2010 2:27 pm

Hello all. First time posting here.

I've read through the thread and think I've spotted an entry consistent with the methods given here (thank you MO).

Any comments welcome and appreciated

Waited for entry this time. I will keep watch for chances to add in... however it is in the middle of night, so that may have to wait until morning.
