Dukascopy Jforex Platform

Postby trendme82 » Sun Jun 13, 2010 5:28 am

Hello traders,

I am starting this tread in hopes of finding other traders that use Jforex Java trading platform. Unfortunately, only Dukascopy offers JAVA based trading platform. I said unfortunately, because most retail traders do not have a $5000 USD investment to start off with. But from my experience, This platform is better than Mt4 once you have become adapted to the layout. This platform is intended for the use of Strategies, automation, EA, etc. However, this platform has features that suit the day trader/scalper.

If you know of other Java based platforms, please list them below.

I am also interested in sharing any information on Strategies, coding, indicators in JAVA. I still use Mt4, but I am so tired of the limitations within Mt4 and I am already using Duka Jforex as a scalping platform. however, I need management tools that I use in Mt4 before I can abandon Mt4 for good.

Information is limited about this platform and Dukascopy Forum has very few members. As I see myself on a solo adventure, I may have to convince people that Jforex is better than Mt4 for day trading.

here is a tool that helps convert any MQL into Java. But unfortunately, you must understand mql and Java to make the manual corrections. I am no programmer, but I have been learning mql for the last few months. Luckily mql is super easy to implement, while java looks a little more intimidating as it should because it is a TRUE coding language

In a matter of few days, max weeks this platform (not Java, but EasyLanguage) will have Duka's data feed and trade execution engine: http://www.tssupport.com/multicharts/

A few thousand people are members of this community and are very helpful. When Duka is connected to MC youmay want to take a 30 day free trial and see if it suits you with your trades via Duka.

Its september Now, AND Dukascopy is a keeper. I thought I was going to lose the personal account from the new US regulations, but personal accounts are still ok.

I have been using PT/Betrade with Dukascopy's API and several reasons, such as Multiconnection, semi auto trading, and for my own instruments.

I had a few disconnects from the Betrade server that quickly put me back on Jforex, but the PT community addressed my concern and they mentioned the problems are solved. I'll test it again tongiht..

trendme,
please continue posting your updates here as I am prolific coder myself, who is about to switch to jForex like you did.

Here is a small consideration (in attached files)...

Contribution is more like it.....

These must be the Top EA's From dukascopy's Automation Contest if I am correct??

Thanks a lot. I actually came across their automation contest a week back but havent had time to check. As I also noticed it was open source systems.. Shocking indeed.

I work with a few other programmers, but they do not specialize in java, so it would be nice to collaborate with someone proficient is java.

Last night I downloaded the tools from Molecule6 (Live-=Rebate IB) and their order manager is working great. I had to use MT4 bridge and execute from MT4 to manage my open trades in the past, but no longer needed.

I'll keep this thread alive as MT4 Blows chunks.

I know it sounded weird but from

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/considerations ,
6. Payment given in exchange for a service rendered;

Basically it was a small gift in exchange for future cooperation on the java platform ;)

I am currently growing my capital in another broker before joining Duka, because they dont offer more than 100 leverage even on small accounts.

Also André from Molecule6 lives an hour away from my hometown, so I will probably just go see him in person ;)

I checked the tool you talked about, and I gotta say it seemed a little more complicated than MT4. But the quality and speed of execution is simply on an other level.

So what is the concensus on PT Multitrader? Is it worth it?
Failure is an opportunity to learn.
