MultiCharts is a better Tradestation

Postby traderxman » Wed Jan 31, 2007 4:54 pm

Let me introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste...been around for a 1000 years etc etc :D

I trade the mini-dow in the mornings for 2 hours and then eat lunch. I love hitting the gym in the afternoon and make it part of my daily ritual lifestyle!

I like the spirit here on this forum and others that have followed TRO...you are truly a man who helps the software flunkie like myself create his OWN stuff to trade with.

I like the TRO PMSM TREND now that I have modified it with my formulas...to give simplicity proper color 8)

I have several NT software packages...I purchased alot some time ago...its a great piece of software.

However, I also like MultiCharts and it works with the code being offered here by TRO.

In short it is a better Tradestation, without the shotty historical data feed. I like to keep it up to date myself.

Anyway here is link to try a 30 day MultiCharts free trial if anyone is interested.

Cheers!

I do it by my own methods...I think TRO even wrote something to help if I am not mistaken.

It's certainly cheaper :)
Eudaimonia (pron.: you-die-moan-e-a) (Greek: εὐδαιμονία) is a classical Greek word commonly translated as 'happiness'. The less subjective "human flourishing" is often preferred as a translation.

I actually tried it after this post.

Would not recommend it.

There were the following processes running even after I quit MultiCharts:

1. tsServer
2. MCActiveX
3. ..some other... process (forgot the name)

I found them running just because my system was sluggish and I investigated. Found that they were taking up 100% CPU on my 3.2 GHz system.

Next thing I did was to uninstall.

Sticking with TS. But have started work on my own system.

I'm using a dual core with windows xp media center.
Many indicators in multicharts will not compile TRO's included.
Some that did compile shrink the chart to 1 straight line.

Today while still playing with the charts, multicharts crashed and wanted to send the error message to TS Support, but for some reason the message would not send, perhaps a bad email address.

Also when switching to a 5m chart with no live data, the bars walked off the screen.

Bottom line the program is not worth the money bugs still need to be removed.
