Thanks for the update. PS I know yoy have said you use mbt navigator to place your trades and mt4 as your charting but what data feed do you use? Like what company's demo account data feed do you you use that is in sync with navigator?

A Big "Thank You" to TRO

Postby BlackPearl » Tue Aug 18, 2009 3:49 am

I have been "lurking" for some time and finally decided to join in the fun. I am a seasoned equities investor but am very attracted to to FX for additional income. I have been dabbling in FX for the last four years with no consistent success. I am so impressed with the people on the TRO forums,... very knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to help others. And to TRO who tirelessly answers the same questions over and over and provides the tools we need to make good educated trades. I am eager to begin using the DTB system and join the ranks of others like me who finally have discovered a great teacher in TRO as I have. Now to my first question, I have been reading a lot about the DTB system and now I see the "Motherload", can someone explain what the Motherload is us newbies.

Again, I am glad to be here and look forward to making a lot of new friends.

Best regards,

Black Pearl (as in the the ship, the "Black Pearl" of Pirates of the Caribbean)

Hi Black Pearl

Welcome to the forum.

The Motherlode is a zip file of all the free indicators that TRO puts out during the preceding month e.g. Motherlode 200907 contains either new, modified or updated Indicators from TRO during July 2009.

Hello Retireme, thank you for the Welcome. I'll unzip it and try to understand what it's for. I think I get what you're saying. If you would like to elaborate, please feel free.

No need to elaborate, what I said is what it is.... if you have a look at the file, have a play with the indicators and still have questions, try the search function first for that particular indicator. Obviously, if you can't find anything (I would be surprised) then by all means, ask your question.

Happy Pip Hunting

Another Welcome to you BP,
It's easy to be overwhelmed with TRO's generosity & massive number of indicators. It's been a while since I've downloaded a motherload (ML) file so I'll go to the ML listing (link below) and start with the oldest one I don't have.

The June 2009 listing has directions from TRO on how to install them.

You're on your own to use them and to determine if they help you see price action. But like RM said, many of the more popular indicators have their own threads or are mentioned in existing threads. And as you've already observed, the numerous helpful people here will chime in if you've got questions about others.

Thank you fort2w. I'm starting to "feel" my way around on the threads here and with the indicators. The one thing I really noticed here is the good natured willingness to help the newbies. As a newbie, I can say it is much appreciated. And thank you retirme for your help as well.

Best regards,

BP
