Trading the News

Postby gronga » Tue Jul 07, 2009 7:13 pm

As the topic says, I am looking for good resources on trading news both in terms of news sites, to see whats coming up, and at ways to open simultaneous trades both up and down with stop losses to catch the pips before they run.

Any ideas?

Ya I had been wanting something like that for years. Never could find one. They had secret news weapon but thats out of business for some reason. I think Dustin pass has the same thing and its available. those things are not cheap, they have monthly fees and there are many "no trades". Someone should make a free version of that, but the brokers would soil themselves if everyone used them.

Hi guys,
Try forexfactory. The dark red icon indicates maximum impact on the corresponding currency.
Normally I do not bother about the news. When the numbers appear green the currency will appreciate eg euro vs usd. Numbers in red will normally be followed by a sellout on the currency. This had been a great help for me to take positions and profits.

teongee, right when the number is getting released, and the refresh wheel is turning, does the number show red or green when its released or does it show black. I did exactly that but I noticed that the number was just black.

Hi Pinkpanther5,
Black indicates a neutral status. I would interprete it as very little impact on the currency concerned.
Btw the number has indirect reference too. eg if nos for GBP turns out green the eurousd will be bullish as an indirect effect.
I would say it is worth monitoring to enhance your profit making skill. :)
