Simple System

Postby csbueno » Mon Jul 06, 2009 3:12 am

Hi:

I´d like to share a very simple system that has been quite profitable for me.

I use a e-Regr linear regresion channel as a base, where I can see a channel where the price usually moves , you can find it here: http://codebase.mql4.com/4332

Also, I use this indicator:
http://codebase.mql4.com/629

The AO is not 100% necessary, but useful.

The Image is self explanatory: If the price has gone to the upper side of the channel, you wait for the zero lag stoch to cross to make sure its a strong rebound of the price, and then go short after the candles crosses.
,
The opposites applies to go long.

Interesting!

Couple of questions:

1) Is it working only on H4 timeframe?
Do you have stats for lower timeframes?

2) Cross of stoh - is it cross from up of from down (or it doesn't matter)?

3) What is overall percentage of wins for this strategy?

4) Is it working better on trending markets or flat ones?
Which currency pairs have you traded and which ones seem to be better?

5) Any other special rules or exceptions?
I like simple systems myself, but don't trust simplicity much,
you know - always prefer to have additional level of protection.

H4 has give me the best results so far; However H1 has also been profitable in my real acct. Demo it to find whats suits you better.

The cross must be in the direction of the trade we are looking for; for shorts, it must came from top to bottom (blue must cross the red, not just touch it). for long, is just the opposite

Im getting close to 92.06% accuracy (Im always looking to find a way to improve it)

It works better on trending markets, but the indies will show you when to enter anyway; if the markets goes sideways, its easy to identify it and make a decision of what to do.

I use almost any pair, as long the spread is less than 6.

What I try to avoid, as a rule, is not to going against time frames: i.e.

If a have a entry signal on H4, but on H1 a see that the price is in the opposite side of the channel, I just wait to everthing to match up, eventually the price shouts at You of what is about to do.

Just practice it on a demo, eventually you will become familiar with it.

wow Carlos, I did 3 trades today all in profit!!! I used your channel system with 3 sema near the top or bottom channel line.
I'm just curious what is your exit strategy? I wait for 20 pips, close half of order leaving the rest to run and moving SL to break even +5 pips.

I usually go for 40-50 pips in h4; and 10-20 on h1;

You may try using a trailing stop everynow and then.

Colud you please post an image on how you set it up? Im courious about using SEMA´s
