trying to sort out the tools

Postby gronga » Sat Jun 27, 2009 7:31 am

Hi, I reletivly new to trading, and as such, I have been sucked into the MT4 crowd.
However, I don't think it is the best tool to use, nor do I particularly like it. It is a memory hog, and likes to block my computer up like feeding cheese to a cat.

I also got into a broker that I am sure TRO would not like, Investech. They have low 'fixed' spreads, which of course means they are taking it out in both a small commision (10 cents per micro lot .01) and apparently the moment I open a trade, I start at a deficit. So every trade I do, I'm working up hill.

I just want to know an honest brokerage I can use, and a good platform that will run TROs stuff, so I can basically start over and re-learn, but on better terms.

Also, I find that Investech will not let me modify an order within 10 pips. this drives me batty, as I just want to do 5 pip trades if I can. Any suggestions? Maybe a script I can run to open a trade the way I want it, everytime?
Thanks!

i have tried a lot of them alpari fxpro pfg and finally agree with TRO that mbtrading is the best. although they charge commission (get a little of that back via http://www.cashbackforex.info ) and no problem with trading within the spread, no nonsenxe about tp or sl must be 5 or 10 pips away of price.
their mbnavigator is not the friendliest, but just learn it. and use a good mt4 platform such as alpari for charting. alternatively you can go over third party software to mbnavigator so you can do charting and trading from one source (although this route will probably not be a free one)

they are knowledgable, called a few days ago with their support line because of blocked account and on the fly solved.

Thank you both, I do have a MB demo account for the MT4 platform there (MB university) but not a live one. In short, I don't have the extra cash to open one up yet there.
When I do, though, I will :) It is good to have some confirmation on it.

So a follow up question would be, If I already have MT4 running on Investtech, why not just use it for the indicators? It seems that as long as I don't actually open anything, it is dead on with in its proscribed 'spread'.
Then go to MB when I get the 400 bucks plus any other hoops, declare TRO as my IB use thier navigator. Sound good from a 'tools' pov, or should I look at something different?

You can use Investtech for the indicators if that works for you.

I believe you should always have at least 2 different live forex feeds.

My name is nobody :smt027

There's a webinar tomorrow 8 pm (EST I suppose) about the MT4 launch:

I would suggest to consider using TRO as IB for MB Trading especially since there are some rather interesting incentives when using Navigator.

Good luck !
