One of the things that is usually lost on people is that I use a 6 unit cap, so if I lose after '1 + 1' then my loss is 1/3 the size of the swing.
Instead of stacking to 6 in one go, I just increase the minimums:
1 + 1 } risking my money
2 + 2 } risking profits only
3 + 3 } risking profits only
When you 'stack', it simply looks like this:
2 + 2 } risking my money
4 + 4 } risking profits only
6 + 6 } risking profits only
Why do this?
if price swings 11 pips and your orders are at least 4 pips apart then you'll only be down around 3 pips:
(3 pips at max size)
the ability to survive price swings, without needing to use a stop loss, is a major advantage. . .
you can use a stop, of course, but it isn't critical; if volatility is off the charts, you may not want to use a stop.
Pips mean fk-all, the only thing that matters is how much money is trading hands; how much money are you exposing to the market,
and is it "your (hard earned) money" or not "your (hard earned) money"?
If you minimize risk.
If you maximize reward.
You will win.
