It gives you a loud ping when someone posts so you have to respond straight away, none of this walk away from the computer and do other things outside of trading.

Does anyone here use NixOS? I came across it recently and I think that it's pretty interesting.

never heard of it, but looks quite cool with the package manager improvements. I use Ubuntu Desktop which is OK, I wont be able to switch unfortunately to something new and shiny like this.

I turn that $hit off, BUT then Alias starts posting his trades and I get sucked back in. LOL

I am more thinking about the 4-5 years worth of things that I have to accomplish.

NIxOS was actaully released 3 years before Ubuntu.

I still use brew (macOS) and whichever default package manager is needed for Linux.. on the Linux boxes I look after I use alpine because small is awesome and less is definitely more. A lot of the version hell goes away when you use docker …

Isn’t NixOS written in that programming language that starts with the letter H?

Speaking of which, despite being on holiday I bought the PDF version of effective Haskell from prag prog and am enjoying it so far, more as a meditation than anything
