The exchange margin for NQ is $16800, x4 contracts is $67200, x0.42857 is $28799.90 in risk capital. . .
so you should have at least $95999.90 if you are going to swing trade NQ.

Day margin is $1000, x4 contracts is $4000, x0.42857 is $1714.28 in risk capital. . .
the minimum needed to day trade NQ is $5714.28:

starting with 1 contract, you should not lose more than $1700; you will then utilize profits (only) to scale to 4 contracts.

What happens if you lose $1700?
a) stop trading NQ
b) divert $1700 in profits to NQ
c) deposit $1700.
but never touch the margin money.

If you plan on trading 5+ contracts then you can scale to 2 of 5 before making use of profits.

- If swing trading is not even an option then you have no way to maximize reward.
- if you do not withhold the money to stack contracts then that makes winning a lot more difficult.

Is NQ what you should be trading? probably not.

You'd be better off trading micro/e-mini crude, mini gold, etc. . .
metals, energy, agriculture.
