Dave had an 89.8% win rate today.
He doesn't trade near as much as he use, being much more conservative. I think it's because of two factors.
Built up a stash of cash and has a bunch of people in the mentorship, many paying $350 a month.

What you are saying is "use a 30% stop" on your acct.
Instead of letting the broker close your trade, close it yourself at a 30% drawdown.

SAME THING as placing a stop at X% or X$ or X on the other side of a pattern.

It is not 'the same thing'

Here you have a lot more money in 'risk' but you are limited by what you've allocated to margin:
after profit, it could look like this:

10 max.
Margin: $800
Risk: $27000
r: x

Why might you have that much in risk? you could be attempting to trade much larger charts. . .
in general, it is better to: reduce risk, lock up more margin, and increase your min/max size.

Another difference is that you could have multiple folders:
here your risk is 30% of the total, but not 30% of your account:

Micro Crude Oil (MCL):
5 max.
Margin: $1000
Risk: $428.57

Mini Corn (XC):
20 max.
Margin $1000
Risk: 428.57

Mini Gold (QO):
4 max.
Margin: $1000
Risk: 428.57

Additional Funds:
r: $2700

Instead of being a jacka++ button-pusher, you have started 3 mini ventures and are treating them as you would an actual business.

The money in margin is considered to be permanently locked; at no point can you borrow it to continue trading a market.

Trading is done, day is starting , will think about this stuff later. (yeah right, trading not going to be on my mind at all). LOL
