Re: The story of Yirbu

Lately I have been reflecting on my trading style.
I have been asking myself the question what my style is, does it matter? what do I prefer? Which setups am I good at? At which setups and styles do I su*k?

Because my personal life/circumstances have been subject to some change the last couple of months I can see I am adapting my trading.
The change is part by design and part by "just go with the flow".

One of the good things of this change is that my trading has become more structured.
Structure in the sense of that I am getting better in seeing what I want to trade (and how).
A couple of months ago I wasn't very good at that.

I am doing less trades, the $ result is more or less the same but I have more time left.
Previously my approach was to spend as much time as possible and get as much screentime as humanly possible to get a good foundation.
In june I have completed my first year on Kreslik. I like it here and I like the people on Kreslik.

There still is a lot to learn

Today I had a nice trade.
Because I knew I wouldn't have a lot of time to focus on trading I prepared a couple of setups last weekend.
One of them worked (partially)

The idea: A BOS happened on the hourly. Price came back to mitigate (at the arrow) but I felt it might not have been enough.
So IF price would come back, where would it go?

Exactly; In that FVG, at 61% retracement, at that round number 138.00.
There is even more confluence but I figured these things would trigger a reaction.
So my alarm went of at 138.0 and I missed it.....
Luckily I was able to hop on later and could ride it all the way to 100pips for partials.
Closed it when I felt there wasn't enough steam left to push it up.

If it's not going up it must be going down so I shorted it for another 40 pips.
Happy with this trade 8)

Here we go as I know we all like charts;

Price peeked above London high, came back down and BOS.
Went up again but failed to go higher and reacted to a Z-Line.
Time to short and snatch 34 pips.

A H&S pattern formed on the m5. Entry on m1 for price to reach into the fvg.
Breakout move was exactly the size of the pattern.
Unfortunately my attention was needed elsewhere because I really wanted to reverse and go short.

As my time has become limited I am having less time to trade and as I see it, less screentime = slower learning process.
In my search to solve this I am experimenting with different styles and solutions.

All tough this was 60% luck, obviously my intention was to trade it down. Just didn't expect it to drop so fast.
Just before my short I had a long which obviously was a loss and went against my bias.
Switched sides and got 111 pips.

What goes up, must come down...
News pushed price above that 141 level. It ran out of steam and went aaaaaaalllll the way back down taking the lows.
There was a BOS and price returned back to that area. Short and wait.
Done for the day 8)
