For real, reading his books, it’s really humbled me. Mainly because the faults he points out still ring true today. If I didn’t know what in what time Darvas lived and the years were replaced with more recent years, it’s the EXACT same thing. To think that I’m somehow “different” is writing my own demise

Sometimes you need complexity. . .
other times you need clarity.

Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Before placing a trade, I “hear” the voice of Darvas. It tells me to wait, then it tells me “place a pilot buy” or “my stop loss will take care of it” and a very important one before I place the trade… “I know I will be wrong half of the time…”

Interesting stuff. Never had a book affect me like this

I think that I like this view better than what I was doing before. . .

I have the minute chart plotting a 20 period simple MA (open price) over 1 MA dots (open price); only the larger charts are moving, drawing my attention to where it needs to be.

All that I want to do is to hitch a ride onto the H2/H3/H4 and ride a larger trend (expansion of the previous range or ranges).

Patterns & breakouts. . .
what is there to say?

Candlestick charts waste so much space, you have to hit the '+' twice just to see the bodies #-o

With dots, you can zoom out all the way and still read the chart.

Only one more thing to think about for a whole minute! how simple is that?

Reading those dot charts is not easy for me.
I have noticed that if you are a veteran it seems it doesn't really matter how the chart looks like.
So today I watched it for a while, made up some rules and tried trading a dot chart.

I got +13, -2, +7 and +11
Good start, but starts are often good.
Let's try again tomorrow and try not to loose my 29 pips. :D

You're basically just looking for collections of dots to define areas of S&R.

A 20 MA, or larger chart bias, will give direction to your trades; you either trade up and out or down and out of these collections.

I get why people would use candlesticks, a lower wick and a close higher, it just feels good, but you'll find that if you turn off the candles you'll arrive at a very similar entry.

With less information, you run out of things to consider and are forced to just make a decision.

You are right, if you know what you are looking for, you'll be just fine trading a 3 line break chart or a Heiken Ashi; it really doesn't matter what chart type you use.

It's ok to draw on your charts in the beginning, but it's better to let your eyes adjust than it is to lock your focus with a drawing. . .

Thx!
It's nice to play with and train my eyes to spot the "collection of dots", this will be something I can definitely use in my trading.
My 29pips from yesterday were gone real fast and then some more...

I think I will keep playing with the dots but, I have a good thing going now, my account is slowly growing, so I don't want to f**ck it up starting a new adventure to soon.
