You had an oversized baseball mitt to catch it with a steep 20 still up and that Z line level.

More examples, ES on QuanTower.
I do like this platform so far. It's simple to manage multiple accounts.
2 Trades in early US.
2 points for stops and 6-point targets.
$50 a point with smaller commissions compared to tick size.
$12.50 per tick
Commission is $3.98RT or about 1/3 of a tick.

Commission on micro is $1.02RT which is pretty much 2.5x the mini.

The US indices are often very very slow during the Asian session, eg 20:00 ET onwards, but sometimes they cover distance, albeit very slowly once the Asian open has finished.

Local markets are however very active, eg Hang Seng Index futures are liquid and can really move in the Asian morning. Perhaps a cross between ES and NQ?

It’s a real shame that US brokers (other than Interactive Brokers) don’t offer access. Hmmm, zlines, momentum… Dead Horse might work very nicely on the Hang Seng.

Still, it is encouraging to see Alias pulling some points out of NQ during Asia.. beats my 2+ hour 2 tick 10yr bond trades, lol.

Hang Seng and Nikkei sucks spread wise, tick value and margin. You will fair better with AU or UJ spot.

I think UJ is great for that time of day.

Thanks for the heads up on USD/JPY, Don and Alias... I just took a small scalp on 6J (futures) with it. Watching the activity on the DOM at 21:30ish ET and it was quite active and clean.

I see what you mean Don about Hang Seng.. if i recall correctly there was 3 tick spread on the mini KOSPI (K200M I think) and Interactive Brokers never does reduced margin.. when I look at 6J futures I see 1 tick spread and $6.25 per half tick and $726 margin per contract - enough for me to get started with and scope to add a few lots on if/when needed.

There was a time when HSI30 and N225 were glorified but it's long gone. With DJI30 in its current zone (for some years now), there is really no reason to trade those two. The only time I will look into currency futures or the futures market in general is when the CFD or spot market is no longer available to the public or completely gone. The current trend is that government agencies will limit CFD trading even more. We'll see.
