Re: PowerX Strategy "PowerZ"
Cool, I didn't experience any bugs, the whole clicking back and forth on a timeframe for the objects to show happens with other indicators I have. Always assumed it was an MT5 thing!

These are my favorite charts! that's why I ported them over to MT5! Glad you like them![]()
Here is the updated version:
1) you can now color the bodies so that it is easier to see when using lighter colors or smaller windows.
2) you can turn off the wicks so that you can trade the 'vertical line chart'; closing prices stacked vertically in pairs. . .
it's more of a line chart than closing ranges.
I personally don't prefer either option, but there you go![]()
The charts are also now less buggy.

That's how zoomed in you have to be to see candles --->![]()

Always with the awesome stuff. I don't know how to port this thing into MT4 yet. Then again, I might one day completely migrate my stuff into MQL5. Sooner than later. Downloading IgazI.

All that you do is: take the attached source code to the MT5 freelance page, click on the 'create new order' in the upper right,
Type "Looking for someone to convert a simple candle overlay indicator to MQL4"; use words that imply that they shouldn't expect a lot of money
I would offer them a flat $59 so that they would get $50 after fees; in exchange, you are going to give them 2 weeks to complete the job.
I chose MT5 because I am going to be opening an account through Optimus Futures / StoneX and that was the version of MetaTrader that was available.
Also, MT5 is going to be around a lot longer than MT4; it would be a shame to have to pay someone to recode all of my indicators all over again

Re: PowerX Strategy "PowerZ"
If you're working with a POS low performance laptop (*caugh caugh*) then you are going to need to go to the tools => options => and uncheck "enable openCL for terminal". That's what happens when you buy a computer that "does the job" instead of going for max specs
To set up the chart I just: drag and drop three charts, click the 'arrange windows' button (Alt + R), and then resize the middle period to take up 2/3 of the space.
I'm not concerned with selecting the "perfect period" for the middle chart, I just want a sense of where my trade is going to exist in the bigger picture; I am going to rely on the smallest period to zoom in and get a better view of the situation.
For the daily, I am just going to use the "vertical line chart"; a setting of '2' with no wicks.
Every 2, 3, 6 months you'll find yourself in a the perfect long-term trade where you'll replace your office chair with a lawn chair

Re: PowerX Strategy "PowerZ"
Bought more power; this should be enough to handle a few light tasks
To answer your question:
The Surface Laptop Go 2 works just fine for a good 80% of tasks: it's light enough to hold it under the keyboard and walk around with it, and it is perfect for taking it around town. I love it.
I have $200 mini PC's that can handle older software, like MetaTrader4 and IRONBEAM, no problem.
I could just connect to a virtual PC, that can handle ray tracing and all of that fun stuff, but space is limited.
$789 is a good deal, and you can never have too many portable computers

Paying someone is good and definitely faster than if I have to learn mql5 coding. But then if I have to do this for my whole library then it's a bad choice. I'm learning mql5 now. Hopefully can port them soon.

Re: PowerX Strategy "PowerZ"
It is a given that the closing price is neither the highest nor the lowest price;
when you talk about needing to wait for a retracement, it does not compute
In order to close lower there must have been a high price.
In order to close higher there must have been a low price.
Given three prices, the order in which they occur does not matter. . .
- price trading below a range of prices is bearish
- price trading above a range of prices is bullish.
I know that it is hard to let go, but I'm here for you
