Neoticker Data Feed Options

Postby olwisepieeye » Tue Aug 22, 2006 9:18 pm

Can any helpful people shed some light on what they use for a data feed? Do most people attempt to use brokerage data or a 3rd party? What are the limitations of each?

I have been looking at this for a while. At this point I just need some of the eloquent Kreslik community to lay out an argument on what they use and why.

Thanks to anyone that wastes some life reading and responding. It's appreciated.

I use eSignal.

Every feed will have a problem from time to time. But eSignal works reliably with NeoTicker.

Data feed for NeoTicker

Postby TomKeough » Fri Aug 25, 2006 4:16 pm

Hello olwisepieeye,
I have been with NeoTicker since January, '06 and when I started, I used my IB data for the data feed. The problems I encountered were the lack of historical data and no sub-minute timestamp on the data. Since then IB has enabled some data history.

From IB, I went to Quote.com and had a bad experience with the lack of information and poor support. I was with them only one month. I have been with eSignal since March and all is well. A bit pricey but worth it.

Thank you both for your responses. I have ESignal as well (bah pricing!) and was looking into the brokerage idea. It sounds like ESignal is one of the better options though, so I shall keep paying.

Tom...been to Burn's Steakhouse yet? You have to go atl east once.

olwisepieeye,
Yes, it's Bern's Steakhouse and it is my wife's favorite place to eat. We usually go to the Mariott Waterside in downtown Tampa because we can walk there from home.

Are you here in Tampa too?
Tom

I did live in the Clearwater / Safety Harbor area. Left about a year ago, now in Boca Raton.
