Default Fractal vs True Fractal 3.png

Gonna do it My Way.

Looks like your fractal picked up a few that the main indicator didn't, must be a slightly different formula.
Your arrows point the correct way which is good, not like the fractal....
An in between suggestion could be to have the arrow appear before the close when it is below 50% or two thirds of the prev candle perhaps so you could get the jump before the close?

My fractal is strictly based on these conditions:

Using 3 candles
For bearish fractal 2nd candle' high must be higher than 1st and 3rd and vice versa for bullish fractal.

The default is using 5 candles
For bearish, 3rd candle must be at least same or higher than 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th and vice versa for bullish.

The main thing is for the candle to complete, jumping ahead before the candle is closed is a bad idea for small tf and/or if the candle range is small.

It's a good strategy:

everything about it that I initially viewed as a weakness turned out to be a strength.

I am against the use of multiple indicators without color-coding the information into the price bar.

Umph yeah... but unfortunately my skill is not there yet. I paid to learn how to code an EA but for making indicators, I haven't learn anything so I just modify any indi that I have to do the things I want it to do. Doing an indicator from scratch or with advanced options is still waaaaay beyond me :oops: But that is indeed what I would like to achieve, coding the entry timing into the bar. I'm taking it one step at a time.

I ordered a 440 page book, on programming in Haskell, that will arrive on the 24th.

The good news is that now we have the GPT powered Bing chat to give us detailed help with any problem we might have.

Owh... apparently it's out of my league :oops:

Gonna learn how to use Bing, maybe that's a noob-friendly route.

I asked bing to create me a custom candle based on the last 3 closes, over certain durations, eg an hours worth.
Its keen to help.......

Certainly! Here’s an example of what your custom indicator code might look like with an init function and an on tick function that includes the custom candle code and can be backtested:

#property indicator_chart_window
#property indicator_buffers 1

double myBuffer[];

int init()
{
// Your initialization code here
}

int start()
{
// Your code here
}

void OnTick()
{
// Your on tick code here
double open = iOpen(_Symbol, _Period, 1);
double close = iClose(_Symbol, _Period, 1);
double high = iHigh(_Symbol, _Period, 1);
double low = iLow(_Symbol, _Period, 1);

if (open > close) {
myBuffer[0] = high;
myBuffer[1] = low;
myBuffer[2] = open;
myBuffer[3] = close;
} else {
myBuffer[0] = high;
myBuffer[1] = low;
myBuffer[2] = close;
myBuffer[3] = open;
}
}

void OnTester()
{
// Your backtesting code here
}

Needs a bit more work by looks as nothing worked :( , I tried the other week using chapGPT and managed to get one candle drawn but that was it.

Fringer is very aggressive. Much more than the others in this thread. And therefore, the potential is great. For aggressive traders of course, no matter the tf.

Question: Why those charts?
Answer: So you can see the potential to turn them into daily anchor trades. If you have the stomach, expand it into regular anchor trades. If you can't do daily anchor then do the mini anchor trade. If you do daily anchor trade or regular anchor trade you can add scalp on the sideline to cope with the bumps here and there. If you go with the mini anchor trade, there is no need to scalp because it's already a very short-term trade that smells like scalping.

Question: I thought anchor trade is only for naked trading?
Answer: Yes and no. Yes, it is much better with naked trading. No, who says you should limit yourself? Certainly, I never said that. On the contrary, I encourage people to expand their WIL and if it's thick enough, there is really no distinction because you are the trading method.

Same idea, different take.
