Hi, my name is Luis and I just turned 17 two weeks ago. I'm looking for someone to help guide me on how to trade and hopefully become the youngest and most successful trader that has yet to be seen. In my opinion, I think it's best to have the insight of a person who's been there and done that. Everyone learns better and faster with the help and guidance of someone who is a successful trader, instead of trying to learn from scratch and not knowing the difference between good and bad advice. I'd really appreciate any advice or mentoring that anyone would be willing to give. If you're willing to help just post contact info here or contact me at luifuentes@yahoo.com
Thanks in advance
Hi Luis,
The very first thing you should do in beginning your journey is read a book by Mark Douglas titled "Trading In The Zone." It is a book that explores the most important aspect of trading - mental analysis. And when you find a mentor, make absolutely certain that he/she has not only read, but is a master of the contents of that book.
All the best to you,
Ric

Luis,
You may not appreciate what I?m about to say but I?m going out on a limb anyway to offer the following idea to you. Be careful what you ask for. What you leave behind to take this fork in the road may be more than you are prepared to give up. In my view, you already posses one of the greatest treasures, that of youth. If you choose to proceed, enjoy the journey. The destination may not be all that you now imagine. You asked for any advice and this is what I offer. What ever your future brings, I will be in your corner cheering for you.

Time is certainly on your side at 17 - but a little humility and hard work on your own never hurt. I don't mean to rain on your parade here, but ...
... you mean if YOU are good enough?
What credentials do you have that make you such a valuable candidate?
Atleast prove to a future mentor that you have done atleast some work and understand the hardships that and realistic goals you can and can't achieve.
While your enthusiasm is good, show that you have enough initiative to go out and start learning on your own instead of waiting for someone to bring you the golden platter.
Finally - you are already behind traders such as Ronald Raygun in forexfactory forums. 18 years old and is probably one of the most intelligent people on the forum - and he is humble.
There are plenty of great "mentors" on here if you're willing to spend the time to read and learn.
That being said - I too am a beginner. So on that note - I wish you good luck and I'm sure with hard work and persistence, you will become as successful as you believe you can be.
Well if they are good enough they'll have the honor of being the mentor of one of the youngest most successful traders probably ever seen
