Doing EU, my first two days on this system, it helped get my my bias sorted and wait for a better price, so got my daily 20 pips (still baby pips :) ).
I got taught a scalping MM technique of averaging in with tiny min lots grabbing 2 pips at a time which had an opposite R/R ratio to what you guys propose here so trying to put that aside for now to focus on your proposed MM for this style.

Yes indeed, one of his students Jean taught me that style and the sigma box trading, I liked how you can use it to fix or cancel out a bad trade etc..another tool for the toolbox.

Learned this from MO and Oliver Velez.

Oliver Velez, New name to me. Any particular resources you looked at or someone you had interaction with?

I find it more difficult to execute on MT5 than using the Apiary Fund's proprietary software.
I went through their program and was funded in 2 months; it wasn't for me.

Type his name in YouTube.
I really only added the 20 SMA because of him.
The other PA I learned mostly on kreslik.

I gave him ten minutes of my time. . .

I think their time limits were less restricted, I personally haven't done any funding trials with anyone yet, my goal is to build the skills up with a small account up first. Not ready to talk to the rich Uncle yet..

Btw, I think 20 to 25 pips a day is a decent foundation as long as your downside is kept in check. 20 pips = 1% on the EURUSD is also a good start.

OK thanks, yeah it was just over 1%, took an 8 pip loss early in the session which was recoverable, not doing the full 2/36 R/R of the wobbling as I think that will probably work better on a larger account with more experience.
Will follow the SL ratio examples from some of the posts on this thread as it looks like it is dependant on the structure just past the 20 SMA.

IgazI wrote:Alias,

would you mind taking a look at this indicator and letting me know what you think about the stop loss recommendations?

Code: Select all

//@version=5
indicator("RMA Range", shorttitle = ".7RMA", overlay = false)
rangeLen = input(12, title = "rLen")
relMA = ta.rma(ta.atr(3), rangeLen)[1] * 0.7
mid = (ta.lowest(relMA, rangeLen * 2) + ta.highest(relMA,rangeLen * 2) ) / 2
palette = relMA >= mid ? color.new(color.blue,15) : color.new(color.red,0)
palette2 = relMA >= mid ? color.new(color.red,15) : color.new(color.blue,0)
transpStamp = relMA > mid ? 15 : 0
x = plot(relMA, color = color.new(palette, 20), style = plot.style_line, join = true, linewidth = 1)
y = plot(mid, color = color.new(palette2,90), style = plot.style_line, join = true, offset = 0 )
fill(x,y, color = color.new(palette,65))

I might be doing something wrong. All I see is a window at the bottom with a red and blue wave.
