But have you ever taken a screenshot and wondered why your chart was not moving

Ya man I for sure have done that, more than once.

Well, off it went last night.

No retrace, however as it took the break-and-close-above route.

Needless to say, I wasn't on it...but here is how it looks at the moment.

Went off for 50-some and then we come to the nub of the matter. Now it does its retrace.

In real life, there is no way I would be giving all this back to the market. At the same time, it wouldn't have been stopped out (by the original stop, anyway). So this just shows why I don't trade long time frames and the issues those who wish to must face.

If I had been in on this actively, it would have been a case of counter-trading and that doesn't work for those looking for a set-and-forget, either.

Lem,

I see you are still using the Doji Momentum Barz indicator on your charts. So do I,but would you be able to tell me what the indicator is based on technically, so that I can get a better understanding of it, please?

I have tried searching for it, but it is a long thread and my search technique is not sophisticated enough for this galaxy.

The indicator shows when a bar closes outside of the range of the previous bar.

Green bar closed higher than the previous high
Red bar closed lower than the previous low.

Thanks for that!

Quite a simple, but effective idea, although now I know how it works I can leave it out for the sake of simplicity. I can see this one myself, lol.

There are simple indicators that you can see yourself, but sometimes it is easier to have it on there so you can browse through a few pairs quickly.

Just like you can look at a few bars and guess what the ATR is or you can have it on there and know right away.

When Dragon was on here he said he didn't need indicators anymore. He kept them on there because he liked walking by the computer and taking a glace to see if something is setting up.

Good point.

I still have the ADR on my chart, but it is on the side, not amongst the bars. I also 'try' only to trade one instrument at the time. For now AUS200 during the day and UK100 in the evening (I am in NZ).

I am a very pattern orientated person and a nice red or blue without having to think about it suits me fine!
