Yes. And trading is guessing.

Tossing a coin is guessing.

Trading is making a calculated decision based on external information - or at least it should be if you want to actually make money.

I can safely say that I have never entered a trade by singing "Eanie, meanie, minie, mo..." ;)

Trading IS guessing. Making a calculated decision is still "guessing". If you are not 100% certain, YOU ARE GUESSING!

Regardless if it’s guessing, a calculated decision, or an educated guess. Putting semantics aside, trading is highly psychological. Putting in a trade is not difficult at all. Managing it when in profit, is.

In the end, it’s what ever helps with your psychology. If saying trading is guessing, makes it more acceptable, then let it be so.

For me, I’ll go with educated guess, it alleviates the psychological connotations that I personally have with “guessing” (different for everyone based on experience). Adding “educated” before the word, helps in knowing that I do have control when executing a trade or pressing a button. Maybe the control is in the timing (NY open, close, etc...). Maybe it’s not reality everyone lives in, but it’s the reality I choose.

A couple of synonyms for guess are estimate and speculation, so I suppose the wonders of the English language mean that we are all correct, lol.

It is a complete coincidence that I just saw a statement that a chimpanzee is the 14th most successful fund manager in NYSE history. Stocks picked by throwing darts at the sheets, lol.

Had to look this up. Wow! Triple digit returns. You know, lately I’ve been wondering what a “good” return is for retail traders. Not that I care what others are doing...but I’m curious to know what’s “good.” I hear a lot of traders complain about 10% drawdown and I’m surprised....10% drawdown is a lot for me...I don’t even get close to it. But it makes me wonder how others view “normal” and how they view trading. Is 10% growth A LOT per month? Or is it normal? Or maybe simply mediocre. Crazy how we can form our own beliefs.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say a mediocre trader is a losing trader. There are too many ways to keep score, its difficult to get an apples to apples comparison.

I will post screens with comments when I will be in the home.
About methods - how to choose direction if you trade in rat zone?
And how to filtrate signals?

RED RATS SELL SHORT IN THE RED RAT ZONE

GREEN RATS BUY LONG IN THE GREEN RAT ZONE

YOU DON'T FILTER SIGNALS

You go in as soon as you get an entry signal inside the RAT Zone.

Can I trade the rat zone if range too small?
