few weeks ago i was listening to a great conversation between Jordan Peterson and Jocko Willink
Peterson is a psychologist
and Willink is a veteran and best selling author now

they were talking about the attitude towards stressful/ dangerous situations
and an overall idea of "being agressive" in life

Peterson in his book said that you want to accept the demands of life ---- face them voluntarily
Willink said something about the difference between offensive and defensive operations in the army

to sum this up its about taking resposibility and taking the power
if you are out there to "get" you have the power
when you are avoiding stuff and hiding from things you are powerless

it resonates so much with my experience of making trading my full time job
it was FASCINATING
damn it
ill just find it!

here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_Do_6DKDLY

this is SUCH A BIG thing in trading in my opinion
ever since i got decent at this im out here trying to get people ---- im not trying to survive

the great es/pip was always saying something along the lines: "when i walk into the bar, people know i just walked in"
he was a tough guy
with an ultra offensive attitude towards life (at least i always viewed him that way)
he was talking a lot about it
i strongly believe that it has a lot to do with his outstanding results in trading

it also ties up with the Gunslinger Syndrome that Lem was explaining few pages back
guys become more and more afraid
they are not trading voluntarily anymore
they are trading because someone makes them (whatever it is ---- life/ menager/ anything)
and sooner or later they get cought

Jordan Peterson is a genius.

This is absolutely true.

I have been told that I can alter the temperature of a room by walking into it. (Believe me, this isn't necessarily meant as a compliment). My brother is the same. He does so with sound and fury, he is very loud - I am the opposite, it's all in the mood, the energy. If I don't want to be there, I can kill a party stone dead, lol.

Aside from it being hard-coded into the dna, as it surely must be, I developed this persona through my days as a placekicker and then climber. You genuinely have to believe you are the best that ever walked the earth. You have to make others believe it too.

Like attracts like - energy to energy. You may not make it purely on belief alone but I can guarantee you one thing - you will never make it if you don't believe you will. You must never entertain a moment's doubt, or you are doomed.

It is no surprise that there is a lot of shared territory with those individuals who show sociopathic tendencies.

It's a certain kind of fool that likes to hear the sound of his own name...

...and I'll give a 100 yd start to those who can name the lyric (without Groogul) :P

oh yeah

i view you as a charismatic guy
well adjusted
you are aware of your self worth but still got ego in check
thats rare
especially for guys like you who did a lot on a high level
it would be easy to flex

Peterson also spoke about that somewhere in the past
something along the lines: a complete human being is someone
who has the resources to dominate but CHOOSES not to abuse it

for example: attractive guy choosing one woman
strong guy choosing not to solve problems with violence
etc.

there is a sacrifice in that
some might agree ---- some wont
but thats something special
that kinda comes back to Jung
and what he said about being aware of the darkness in all of us
LONG STORY!

BUT!
you stand for bigger values
i know you try to keep this place alive
you reached out to me even tho we barely spoke before
these are some leader moves

and i also agree that just believing in youself wont make you win
but not believing in yourself will defenitely make you lose
long term

sorry for my english
its almost 1:00 a.m. and im writing from the phone in my bed
just my face lit in a dark room like a psycho
thats fine
im fine
