The issue of gender imbalance has always been an issue in the cryptocurrency industry, even before it could really be called an “industry”. Now that crypto is essentially part of the mainstream financial and pop cultural spheres, the issue of gender imbalance has become a hot topic of discussion.

These discussions and efforts seem to have been effective, at least on the level of awareness–the New York Times covered the culture of women in the crypto industry in a piece entitled “Women in Cryptocurrencies Push Back Against ‘Blockchain Bros’” this February.
