Haven't heard it called that but it's a pretty standard move. It can overlap with The K-Gap, which works on the same underlying principle of move and reverse and I used a variant of it for my FrankenBreak. That took contraction overnight leading into the Frankie Open and ran what wasn't far off a Buy Zone from the m15 tf.

You've got to get up an hour earlier though :P

In fact, if I think about it, I'm probably taking advantage of this when I run my DAX-Monster trade in the morning. WZ over the 2-Hr block 06:00 - 08:00 uk time. I look for a move back inside the block as a reaction to the previous candle's direction.

Sheer insanity the speed it moves at but as I said, my drug of choice.

Ah no biggie as Im already up from trading the Asian session. I figured you would be familiar to it or something like it.

I remember you mentioning the Frankenbreak once before. Is that what you used on EG?

Yeah, EG specifically, though I had noticed it also suited GN (another mental mover) and CJ of all things. A few folks have been asking about the method lately, I'll need to think about dragging it out the back of the cupboard.

Evenin' all.

I have been in-and-out all day and having to snip what I could. The Flip wasn't one of the gang today, unfortunately.

Looking at the chart - but without drilling down into the lower time-frames - it seems as though although it didn't flip completely, you had enough of a retrace move back inside to get you your target.

The Upper Wick was probably too big to look at waiting on a break of the High and seeing the major Supply Zone up there at almost the same level, you'd be a bit of a dafty to try and go long there.

Now, you could, of course have taken the rebound back down out of same Supply Zone :D

(Which was also a TS 1-2-3. Entry marked with red circle).

1-2-3 dropped into my lap while doing pre-flight checks for The Flip.

Couldn't have asked for it nicer, especially as it also gave the test of the extreme (High) this time as a better example of the play than yesterday's example.

Now, this gave me a little pause for thought, as going full reverse on The Flip in the next couple of bars would be contra to the 1-2-3 in full flow.

However, it doesn't mean that The Flip couldn't still come into play as a bit of retrace action. As it turns out, that's exactly what happened.

The chance of a large move back North was also less likely when you took into consideration the fact that that would have meant price moving back into the Upper DWZ. This gave me a natural tp point.

Once that move Long (trade #1) was done-and-dusted, you then got the expected break of the low for big bucks (trade #2).

All-in-all, pretty sweet stuff.

I didn't get to flip The Flip today. Out in the sun instead.

Looks like it would have gone ok. Long WZ move into the body.

As an aside, how about playing the zone, or the lower edge of the zone? Endless fun...

Let me know about GN and CJ, sometimes EG is a slowpoke, might be worth it with the larger daily range on that crazy pair (GN)

Indeed. There is of course also ''Surfing The Alien'', where you have the Daily Open Line of GN and simply trade the mental movements of price up and down over it through the day. Good fun.

I added a nice twist to it by running a fluid fib from day open to day high and day open and day low, then using the classic 50-move.
