Automated FX order execution

Postby Leila » Fri Sep 05, 2008 11:10 am

Hi all.

First, congratulations on your very informative forums.

I am looking for a good combination of software / broker allowing for automated FX order execution. I have signed up with TradeStation, and overall like their backtesting / automatic strategy execution features. But after using them for only 4 days, it has become clear to me that I will not use them anymore, for a variety of reasons.

Suggestions anyone?

Thank you.

Leila,

Check out NinjaTrader, MT4, MCFX, anything, BEFORE you buy them for good.

YOU have to be comfortable with whatever you use, therefore, my advise: If you can't test run a software for free, ignore it.

Thanks for your reply. More specifically, I am looking for a system allowing access to brokers that use normal bid-offers for overnight rolls (definately not the case of GAIN capital, used by TradeStation).
So far, I only have found Oanda, but I cant see any software vendor who uses them and also allows automated trading... Any other broker you would suggest?

Leila,

I am afraid I do not think I am knowledgeable enough to adequately provide you with the specific advise you seek.

Sorry Leila,

I must have had a bout of amnesia, for I forgot all about OATS.

Please find Tradestation to Oanda link here:

http://www.snapdragonsystems.com/

I do not know how good OATS is, but it should be worth your while to check it out.

If Tradestation is not entirely to your liking, you could check with Snap Dragon if OATS would work withMultiCharts and/or MCFX.
