This is his shape / flip that I had saved in my Obsidian notes.

I honestly do not have the time to watch Dave's content; his videos are too damn long!

I don't even have 5 minutes, you got 2 :)

If you know what you're talking about, that should be plenty of time [-X

1) make a distinction between 'patterns' (not a breakout) and breakouts.
2) find the center point (the main pattern).
3) find the 'shape' (breakouts "to something" that give the chart some technical shape).
4) trade away from the main pattern, and trade away from a break of the shape (a return "to something").

The order of the circles doesn't matter, I just would have you focus on seeing this repeating shape.

Yes, he has a lot of lengthy ones. I watched about half of the core ones, the message seems the same. We have to be selective with our time for sure.
I've got the pattern concept (consolidation area), the space between the patterns (breakouts) and now it looks like the shape is a scaled up version of the posted picture of the candle flip shape, just using the consolidation areas to represent the high or lows of individual candles.
So I guess the 123 continuation that is in DChappy's thread can be made up of consolidation areas(patterns) as well.

I probably need to read a bit further back in this thread to make sure I understand all the concepts but its kind of clicking, it seems similar with some of the 50% pullback ideas being drawn up in other variations.

The first and most critical step is patterns & breakouts; it might seem that you can just start drawing circles, but that is not the case.

Another critical step is that the 'patterns' fleshing out the shape be 'nearby': not according to some higher chart, but the chart that you are looking at.

I am not going to tell you that you are right or wrong; I'd rather see you grow naturally, using your own brain.
