I've downloaded this TRP SM COMPASS2 and trying to understand its functionality. what does it mean long 43 or short 5?
any legend for this EFS or how to use it?

will appreciate your answer.
thx

Long 43 means that 43 bars ago it switched from short to long.

Short 5 means that 5 bars ago it switched from long to short.

If you are swing trading NEVER trade opposed to the swing column.

but what's the entry triggers?

thx

The COMPASS is a directional indicator NOT a trade trigger.

It is used to determine which direction you should be looking to trade a stock.

You would want to enter within 1 - 3 bars of the direction change.

Use the COMPASS on a daily chart.

TRO_HHLL2

I added an input for interval.

When scalping, I may be looking at a 60 minute and/or 5 minute chart but if lower highs or higher lows are being made on the 1 minute chart... I WANT TO KNOW!

EFS attached for both versions.

Code doesn't work ????

Postby OpaBert » Sat Aug 12, 2006 11:07 am

There is something missing ...

I downloaded the TRO_LRC but it doesn't work???

Error message is:

line 20: ReferenceError: addLibrary is not defined

Are there some additional instructions needed?

TRO_LRC plots the Linear Regression Curves AND

Displays the current TREND +/=/- and how many bars since the trend changed AND

Displays if the range between the Upper LRC and the Lower LRC is expanding/contracting and for how many bars.

Avery,

Where can I find the ORIGINAL EFS?

I know you like to turn everything into a "SLOT MACHINE INDICATOR" to avoid "Squiggley Lines" because that works best for you.

Personally, I'm very comfortable with "Squiggleys" and they help me see a trade develop. As you know, every trader needs to develop their own style and use what works best for them.

Your expertice is much appreciated and your willingness to share is even more appreciated and while Slot Machines can be a tremendous aid sometimes they can be a distraction.

I found that when I tried to use your TRO_APZ the upper and lower lines did not plot and I had to run "BAR REPLAY" to get results. I also noticed that in the Alert Display, the current time displayed rather than the actual time the alert was triggered on the chart.

Both of these conditions make it nearly imposible to use TRO_APZ effectively when studying a chart history in order to determine if / how the indicator might best be applied in a trading plan / system.

Can you include the APZ lines (Squiggleys) and use actual bar times in the TRO Alert?

Again, thanks for your generosity.

The Original EFS is posted on eSignal:

http://forum.esignalcentral.com/showthr ... adid=19230

My study can be used with or without the original.

It is intended for REAL TIME, not history.

Can only make money in REAL TIME.
