the buy zone works very well on the ag futures. the thing i like most about the ag futures is the 09:30 CST start time. its a nice time to to trade another opening after juicing the apple open.

who knew that i would get so much out of zonning out and watching reruns of Green Acres in my college dorm room most of the time.

bb, im using .75 and 1 on the above. however, this is subject to change i have not gotten the "sweet spot" for the zone yet, so im trying differant ones right now. same w/ the stop loss aswell.

Thanks Airball. Look forward to hearing more about the Ags. I'll have to investigate them as well. We should come up with a program that can analyze a stock, commod, etc. to see what the optimal buyzone hi's and low's should be. Wonder how hard that would be?

bb, how i test it is i change the 1 min chart time to open @ 9:30 and close @ 9:45 15min- the price will move out of the zone w/in this 15m. i will than eyeball it at diff. inputs going back for several months and marking off the wins v loss on a yellow stiky pad.

this is part wildass guess & part just knowing price movements in markets. its slow but you get the benifit of learning to read the chart for setup patterns w/in the zone. if i just got the data via a optimizing algro. program, i dont think i would be able to trade it as well.

it would save a crap load of time, but a master sushi chef always sharpens his own knife.

Funny picture Airball! I remember watching Green Acres as a kid, they still run it on the cable channel called TV Land.

I traded Ags for a long time back in the early 1990's. Amazing that you have found the Buy Zone to work on them.

I am beginning to wonder if there is anything it won't work on!

here is a chart for setting up the buy sell zone ranges to make a good wildass guess at were the setting shuld be.

you just move the settings till you find one the works most of the time over a 3 to 6 months. as you look at each day ask yourself would i have gone long or short and why? before long your brain will know what the patterns to look for a winning profitable trade. it takes a lot of time but you only trade the zone for 15 min a day so you got lots of time to do this.
