Tradestation as a broker

Hi,

I'm considering moving to TS - mainly because:

1. There are lots of indicators for TS here
2. They offer automation
3. They act as a datasource
4. It is free if you use them as a broker

However, I have heard some bad things about using TS as a broker - not reliable, etc...

Your comments are welcome.

Don't know honestly. I have never used them myself. If you scalp for dimes, paying $8.00 per side is ridiculous----IMHO.

Go their website. They state $8.00 per 1000 shares. It is not negotiable.

I use multiple brokers. One of them is with TS. To be honest, my only interest in TS is for their charting software (I think its excellent!) thus I don't use them as my primary broker. One of the primary reasons is their customer service is slow and very unfriendly. ie I don't like being put on hold and talked down to like an idiot when I have a trade on and their software locks up.

I've traded with Tradestation for over a year now and will no longer use them as a broker - excellent charting. But the software locks up during peak volume, their tradedesk personnel are rude and condescending and their excecution sucks!

Will use them for charting or the minimum monthly trades to get the free platform - but will no longer use them as my primary broker.

I've heard from others that feel as I do.

I'm trying out Infinity which has been well recommended and have also considered PFG as well.

Infinity vs. PFG

I've used both of these, they are both good IMHO but to get the DOM feature like Infinity AT is "free" but on PFG costs (maybe $50 per month based on my last look). Infinity AT allows one-click ordering on their dom with bracket trades, trailing stops, multiple exits, etc. their pricing on per trade basis is also very competitive.
