Congratulations: LMAX joins Linux Foundation on March 12, 2015.
Linux, coupled with C++ or pauseless-GC Java seems to be the industry standard for low latency & high throughput trading environments, while the speed and cost of prototype and analytical development on other platforms and technologies (read: Windows Server / .NET / functional languages) is still more favourable.
