Germany’s BaFin Appoints Elisabeth Roegele as Deputy President

The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority, otherwise known as BaFin, announced on Thursday that is has appointed Elisabeth Roegele as the Deputy President of BaFin. She will act as the permanent deputy for Felix Hufeld, who is the President of the German financial regulatory authority.

Roegele’s new role will be effective from August 1, 2018. The position of Deputy President has been vacant since Karl-Burkhard Caspari retired in 2015. He had held the position for thirteen years. Roegele was appointed by the Federal Ministry of Finance, following the recommendation of Hufeld.
