Is Forexfactory fair?

Hi all,

I have been reading and learning on this wonderful forum. Quite frankly I'm in awe of the intellect and experience here..
Can anyone tell me if there is a conflict of interests with Forexfactory and some posting topics? It sounds like some people have had run-in's there and I gathered from some posts I read here that all was not as it seemed there.
I have been a member there for a while and while I don't post much, I read a LOT :?
By 'conflict' I mean is forexfactory a non-biased intermediate or are they a subsiduary of a broker (or something else)...

While FF is ok- I don't really want to waste my time on a site that isn't transparent.

Best regards
Paul

Paul,

Everyone has an agenda. No one would be running a website/blog etc. if they didn't have one (heck even my blog has an agenda). The reason for this is that running a website/forum/blog is a ton of work. And those who put it up want readers at the very least. See you are already being manipulated lolz. Of course common sense tells us that some agendas are devious, some aren't and some fall somewhere in the middle. User beware.

I'm afraid I don't really understand the point of your post. If you are asking about why one of our members (Avery) had a problem there then ask him directly (although I can't really see how it affects you).

Based on my experience free or paid websites/forums/blogs are about 90% trash and 10% substance (much like successful traders good content is rare). If you find content worthy of your attention the source (and sometimes the cost) is really irrelevant.

By the way my agenda in responding to your post is that I like the content of this forum and find contributing to it furthers it's value (at least for me) - however, you're mileage may vary.

Edward

P.S. sorry if this post seems rude/abrupt etc. I'm just in a wise#ss mood at the moment.

Forex Factory makes Merlin THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS a month in AD REVENUE. So he will do whatever he thinks is necessary to protect his income.

That's why I got banned. I was a THREAT to his INCOME STREAM.

Hi Guys,
Love your work.

Well I asked cuz I'm nosy.. (kidding)
Actually I was curious because of what I read in Avery's posts and have always thought FF was fairly unbiased. Obviously Merlin will have his interests at heart and of course there is an agenda in that sense.
- although I have always thought the moderators acted in a professional manner.

I don't really want to know or care what the issues were or who was concerned. All I'm interested in is whether they are impartial.

I already know that most (but not all) of the forums I used to frequent are not impartial.

Let me give you an example of what I don't like, but like to know about:
I was on the metaquotes forum about a year ago and there was a discussion regarding the big competition they were holding. The first 3 posts were from people with negative opinions. There was no bad language or anger in the posts. They were laid out logically.
Anyway the next day the posts had vanished.

So in other words metaquotes is (and has) removed posts that did not serve their own ends.
Sheesh! If I wanted to be fed S%&$ I'd watch the news.

I stopped looking at the forum after that.

Does that make sense?
Regards
Paul.

I like forexfactory forum. It is very active. The disadvantage to my mind is that the structure could be better. I do not care if they're promoting anything or not.
