I followed your very popular thread on the TradeStation forum and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the code that you shared with everyone. I take my hat off in respect to your programming skills and your ability to share with others.
I have read many opinions as to why you were banned from the TradeStation forum but I would really love to have an insight of your perspective on this unfortunate situation. Unfortunate because the forum thread has pretty much died and I believe it will take quite a while before someone with your talents, energy and a spirit of generosity comes around.
TradeStation banned me because I didn't back down. I didn't conform. I didn't play by their rules. I was a threat to the status quo.
If I thought a rule was stupid, I said so PUBLICALLY. TradeStation didn't like that. I called them the FORUM POLICE. They didn't like that.
And the biggest problem was the fact that I have "DONATIONS AND GIFTS ACCEPTED" in my code. It is OK for people to sell code with a price tag on the outside. But for some reason ,that is beyond me, having "DONATIONS AND GIFTS ACCEPTED" in the code is "the crime of the century" to TradeStation.
Does TradeStation care about their customers? Of course they do! So much so they don't want their customers to have FREE code that may contain the words "DONATIONS AND GIFTS ACCEPTED". Not only does TradeStation not permit it on their forum, they don't allow reference to a forum that has such code. TradeStation's FORUM POLICE will edit or delete the post.
You would think that a trading publication like TASC or SFO would have picked up on this story. But think again. TradeStation advertises in those magazines. Would TradeStation pull their ads? I guess that's a chance TASC and SFO don't have the guts to take.
Ditto for eSignal.
