A friend in need

Avery,

I am writing you because you are a friend of Russell Lorfing. My name is Brian Choate and I am heading up the relief effort for Russell and his family. Hurricane Ike flooded their bayside home in Shoreacres, Texas with over 4 feet of water. They had recently leased the house and did not have flood insurance. The Lorfings lost almost everything-- appliances, clothing, furniture, electronics, etc. as well as most of the computers and equipment he uses in his business.

Many of you have known Russell in different areas of life, work and ministry. You know first hand of his generosity and giving heart. (Most of you have probably never been able to pay the bill when eating at a restaurant with Russell, right?!) I am sending this to the tagged contacts in his GMail account since I am sure that many of you do not know what he is going through and would want to help him if you are able.

Duane Tracy Ministries in Fort Worth, Texas has set up a relief fund for Russell's family and is processing donations. (Russell has served alongside Pastor Duane Tracy since 1993 in various ministry positions. Rev. Tracy's ministry can be trusted to forward 100% of the donations to Russell's family). If you would like to make a donation to help the Lorfings recover, please visit the website at www.duanetracy.org. It has a credit card donation button as well as a mailing address for all tax-deductible donations. Should you have an employer who is supporting Hurricane Ike charities, please forward this information to the appropriate person.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reply to this message.

Warm Regards,

Brian Choate
