TRO,
I have been learning how to trade over the past year and a half or so. I had to start with a smaller account so I went from stocks (not being able to daytrade) to options to futures and forex as I better understand leverage and money management.
I spent the last four months or so navigating and trading index futures through tradestation and learning Easylanguage. I don't have a programming background, so it was still not that "easy" for me.
I have just recently migrated to Metatrader 4. I knew who you were after reading about how you had been banned from the Tradestation forums. Immediately I was impressed at how much time and effort you must have put into trying to help other people better their trading abilities, only to have them cut you off because you were posting for free what others where trying to sell for a lot of money.
What I am getting to here, is that I respect what you are doing and the manner you are going about it.
I made a donation to you last week because I wanted the "dummie" version of the Buy Zone Indicator. I just wanted one indicator! I had no idea how generous you are, and how willing you are to share. I don't know if I'll ever get around to trying to figure out all the indicators you sent me.
If that wasn't enough, I was emailed two new "strategies" since with workspaces. I have been playing around with the TRO_SR_RR indicator. This indicator is exactly what I had been trying to program myself, or find, for tradestation, before I migrated.
I'm glad I found it! My first trade was for 48 pips. This morning I was looking at the EURUSD. You could see on the chart a triple bottom forming. I entered at 1.464 but got out soon because I couldn't tell if it was rolling over and I had to leave for work. My stop was going to be the higher fib level on the H4 chart at 1.4774. Unfortunately I missed a a 90+ pip move, even though the signals were there crystal clear.
I don't know how to upload pictures on this forum but I will try..
The reason I wrote this post is to:
1) Thank You
2) Hope that other newbie traders might understand what's available to them so they can start trading profitably as they work to learn programming if they want.
3)Ask a few questions that maybe someone can help me with
On this chart I get everything but the numbers in the center. Please explain what numbers are that look like fractions, or someones high blood pressure reading
This might be off topic so I can repost if necessary. I missed this trade this morning because I have not figured out yet how to do a manual entry and an automatic exit in MT4. I did it in tradestation with a Global Variable listener strategy. Questions:
(1) Is it possible in MT4?
(2) Does anyone have any links to code, or TRO indicators that can enable me to:
Enter Manually multiple lots at once
Automatically Have:
-A default stop say, 7 -10 pips away
-Move to breakeven after a certain # of pips are made?
-A multiple scale out process
Any help on this would be appreciated.
