Hi Guys,

Feeling hopeful & quite excited to have found you all...

I consider a miracle will have taken place, when I have learnt to earn my living trading -- as I consider a great thing will have truly happened.

At present, I am only interested in using simulators until I feel I have gained insight into what is required to trade successfully.

However, as yet, I have to say that I haven't arrived at any sense of confidence in any particular system in terms of trade entry based on squiggly line indicators. All the trainers and sellers are always on about the psychology of trading, and though I appreciate that maybe in the end trading will turn out to be all about psychology, I note that driving instructors can teach almost any person to drive, without mentioning the subject of psychology at all.

From this, I am tempted to conclude that all of those system vendors I have yet come across, really just do not have a basic well worked out/unique/trade entry system that they can point to as worth learning. The entry system, in my view, has to come first. Mastering the psychological, as in driving, is always second.

Though, I should add, when looking at squiggly indicator charts, historically, entries/exits always seem strangely obvious after the fact.

===

I am open to simplicity... ...and I dearly hope trading is ultimately simple... I sense it is likely so - just I haven't managed to grasp the essence of this simplicity yet. I do actually feel that what I really need is a very simple & trustworthy entry system. One that is sensible to go about practising until I have mastered it.

I was teaching my daughter to fly a kite today. Waiting for a breeze that was strong enough to risk launching the kite, waiting and being patient until one came along worth trying... seeing how sometimes, the new breeze wasn't enough... though seeing how easily the kite flew high when a good strong breeze took it naturally... and seeing how the kite fell from high in the sky when the breeze stopped... All so obvious and judge-able before the fact.

It all felt very trading related. I noticed that I could naturally make these discernments, and judge the breeze - easily without effort, though in contrast, my young daughter really had no real idea of what to judge (breezewise) in the beginning - and needed assistance to launch the kite.

However once she had it flying high in the sky, my daughter soon announced proudly, that she was really good at this!

I look forward to making your acquaintances.

Best,
Simon

LOL - Nice point!

However, imagine if you were penalized hundreds of dollars at a pop for every error in judgement while first learning to drive. That would add a psychological dimension to the task really quickly!

You are so right, it all revolves around our feelings, and attitudes about money and they go really deep.
